Saison 2026
Anne-Valérie Seto is a versatile right-footed defender and midfielder who returns to her hometown to join the Montréal Roses after her first professional season with Halifax Tides FC.
Born and raised in Montreal, Seto came up through the city’s development system before establishing herself on the provincial stage. She won the Quebec U17 Provincial Championship in 2020 and, in 2022, played for CS Mont-Royal Outremont in the Première ligue de soccer du Québec. Academically driven from the start, she attended Collège Notre-Dame before transferring to Collège de Montréal for her final year of high school, where she joined the CNHP REX program.
Seto spent four years at the University of Memphis (2021-2024), appearing in 67 matches and recording 8 goals and 5 assists while distinguishing herself on the field and in the classroom. She competed in two NCAA Sweet Sixteen tournaments, including Memphis’ historic 2023 campaign that finished with a 20-2 record, and was named to the All-AAC Second Team in 2024. She also earned three consecutive AAC All-Academic Team selections (2022, 2023, 2024).
In 2025, Seto began her professional career with Halifax Tides FC in the inaugural Northern Super League season, logging 388 minutes across 18 matches with three starts before joining the Roses.
Seto signed with the Montréal Roses in April 2026. “Representing my city at the highest level is a dream come true,” she said at the time. “I grew up here, I learned to play here, and being able to come back with the Roses in a professional environment of this quality is truly special.” Sporting director Marinette Pichon pointed to her adaptability, noting that while Seto is a midfielder by trade, her ball-carrying, pace, and reading of the game allow her to play as a centre-back for the Roses.
A midfielder by formation deployed in defence by the Roses, Seto brings versatility, composure, and a strong tactical understanding to the back line, along with the pride of representing the city that shaped her.
